Club Elections! - Wednesday, May 18th at 18:30

Due to the club elections, we will not have a speaker this month. But we will take some time to look at registering for voting in the "other" big election in the fall. In addition, we will hear a bit about the upcoming Presidental debate scheduled for September here in Munich sponsered by Munich's Democrats Abroad and AAUPW!

Book Club

In May, we had a fascinating discussion of Carrie Fisher's The Best Awful.  And for our upcoming June 14th meeting, we will be discussing The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid. Please join us and get to know other members better, as well as discuss interesting books and topics.

Rolling Rebels GNO!

On Saturday May 14, GNO will attend roller derby and cheer on AAUPW member Nichelle Luarca and her team for their first ‘bout’ of the season!  Accompanying this is loud music, wild outfits and atmosphere. So pack up your energy and support as this will be an event not to be forgotten!
See: www.munichrollingrebels.de/en/ for more about the sport of Roller Derby.

Save the Date: Annual Walking Tour will be June 15th

From Early Industry to Regentrification of Munich's West End

Help for Americans Who Need a U.S Bank Account
WASHINGTON, DC (March 1, 2016) – American Citizens Abroad (ACA) today announced that it has partnered with the State Department Federal Credit Union (SDFCU) to extend banking services to Americans living overseas who currently are unable to or face difficulties opening US bank accounts.
The ACA/SDFCU Account, provides the same type of account used by many Americans working at US embassies, to other Americans living anywhere in the world without needing to have a US address or being affiliated with a government agency. ACA and the SDFCU are making these accounts available to all ACA members living overseas. These accounts will allow Americans living abroad to more easily conduct financial transactions by gaining access to e-banking access, financial planning services, IRAs, Share Certificates, and much more.

Americans overseas may sign up for ACA membership through the ACA website (https://www.americansabroad.org/) and from there individuals can link directly to the SDFCU’s account opening page. More information about the SDFCU may be found at: https://www.sdfcu.org/.

ACA is a tax-exempt advocacy organization helping Americans abroad. Its sister organization, American Citizens Abroad Global Foundation, is a tax-exempt public charitable organization focusing on educating members of the public and Government officials and staff about Americans abroad and their needs.
